Welcome to Ashland Soccer Club!
ASC sponsors recreational and competitive youth teams for students attending fourth grade through high school and a recreational adult league. Players younger than 8 start their love of soccer at the Ashland Family YMCA. For the upcoming Fall 2010 season--third graders will continue at the Ashland YMCA and all fourth graders and above will play with Ashland Soccer Club. This will help both the YMCA and ASC programs to better serve players.

Tryout Announcements: Please keep checking the website for updates on tryouts--Competitive players have been mailed letters requesting payment for the upcoming season. Please send in your payment asap!
Middle School Boys; 7th and 8th graders next Fall: U-13 and U-14 Boys: This tryout has been held. Congratulations to everyone. There are a few open spots on the Silver Team. Stay tuned for supplemental tryout announcements.

This team is primarily for boys in the U-12 age range (Born between 8/1/1998 and 7/31/1999--typically 6th graders) Strong players in the U-11 age range (Born between 8/1/1999 and 7/31/2000--typically 5th graders) are also welcome to tryout. Players in the U-10 age group can NOT tryout for a U12 team. (U-10 players are players born between 8/1/2000 and 7/31/2001). Strong U-10 players can be considered for the U-11 AllStar Academy teams (see below.) Tryout fee is $10.00.
EXCITING NEW PROGRAM!
U-11 All Star Academy Teams: Preparing young players for competitive soccer! Ashland Soccer club is excited to offer this new program--Players will play competitive soccer in an 8 v. 8 format in the Southern Oregon region; Games in Ashland, Medford, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls--and possibly the Oregon Coast
(Day trips.) 10 games each season and opportunites for interseason Jamborees and pre and post season tournaments. Specific training will focus on soccer fundamentals for this age group. Preseason training will start early August with 2 -3 sessions weekly. Attendance at practices will be mandatory.
Players entering fifth grade in the Fall 2010 and in the U-11 age group (born between 8/1/1999 and 7/31/2000) are encouraged to partcipate in this new program. Stronger players in the U-10 age group (born between 8/1/2000 and 7/31/2001) will also be considered for these teams through tryouts. We intend to place all U-11 players who try out on an academy team. U-10 players will be evaluated for their ability to play at this level. U-11 players who choose not to tryout for this program can join a recreational team.
Tryout fee will be $10.00.

Note: TRYOUT FEE for all competitive teams is $10.00. This fee helps us cover the costs of putting on the tryout and profits go to our scholarship program--which enables us to offer reduced fees for players from families with limited income.

Tryout Attendance:
* If you cannot attend the scheduled tryout for your age group-- please note this on your registration form-Coaches may consider holding supplemental tryouts for players who are ill, injured or unable to attend the scheduled tryouts. (Often, the coaches will choose to hold supplemental tryouts as a part of preseason practices in August.) *
*Two day tryouts are scheduled to give players a good chance to be seen in various drills, activities and game situations. Please try to attend both sessions if possible.
Attention Parents! Ashland Soccer Club needs YOU! We are looking for some key adults to serve as: Uniform Coordinator, Equipment Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator. We also need help with office work and field maintenance.

Sizzlin' Summer Soccer Training . . .Sign up early to save $$!
Grizzly International Soccer Camps:
Play the World's Game in Ashland this summer with our international coaches, Leo Balbuena, former Mexican professional and Eisa Tia Tou Tou, former African professional, and past Oregon Soccer Coach of the Year--and the AHS Grizzlies! For youth players age 7 - 14. We'll be distributing camp fliers and registration forms to all club members--Camp registration forms will also be available at the club office or you can request one via email from the registrar. Players can sign up from one, two or all three sessions. All players receive a ball and a T-shirt. Proceeds benefit Ashland Soccer Club scholarship program and the AHS Soccer program. Please support this program which will offer high quality instruction with reasonable rates. Summer training will build your child's skills and confidence and ensure their success in the upcoming 2010-2011 soccer year!

Camp fee is $100 per week. First session is underway this week. Please sign up asap for one or both of the other sessions offered this summer!

Where is the Ashland Soccer Club office? Downstairs (basement) in the Historic Ashland Armory (Suite 106-K) at 208 Oak Street--downtown Ashland (Corner of Oak and B Streets --Near Co-op and Umqua Bank.) The Historic Ashland Armory building is open during regular business hours.

We want to make sure all of our adults working with children are registered with the club and have completed background checks. We are recruiting recreational coaches for the upcoming Fall season.
