Welcome to Ashland Soccer Club…

SOCCER MOMS AND DADS IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Send your players to practice with soccer cleats, shinguards covered by soccer socks, shorts/athletic pants they can move in, appropriate weather gear and a water bottle.  You are responsible for making sure your player arrives at practice safely.  If you are sending your player to practice early, please make sure there is a responsible parent available to supervise children at the field  before practice starts.  COACHES HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO COACH SOCCER--PLEASE DON'T EXPECT THEM TO BABYSIT!  Even if your practice session is on school property, school district personnel are not responsible for supervising soccer players after school.  Remember to pick up your player promptly from practice

Tryout Announcements:

  • U12 Boys: Monday, September 8, 5:00 p.m.-Supplemental tryout: New players who were unable to tryout  last spring will be considered for a limited number of spots on the team.   Boys with birthdates between 8/1/96 and 7/31/98 are eligible to tryout.  Contact Coach Andy at 482-8159 prior to tryouts.

  • U13 Boys:  Ashland Kahunas: Strong players interested in competition at the statewide level may contact the coach to be considered for a tryout.  Boys born between 8/1/95 and 7/31/97 are eligible.   Potential new players should be strong athletes with a desire to compete and challenge themselves.  Contact Coach Thierry Chouard at 488-3406.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

Parents--please consider volunteering to help make soccer happen for our children in Ashland.  Help is needed with coaching, uniforms, office work, field preparation.  Call Jeanne at 488-3406 to volunteer.  We have over 250 registered players this Fall--yet very little help from parents. Without a paid staff, the club depends on families to get things done and keep costs under control.

CLUB NEWS:

Congratulations to Riley Smith, long time Ashland Soccer Club player, who was recently selected for the Oregon Olympic Development Team.  Riley started out playing soccer as a recreational player as a young girl.  She was a member of Ashland Picante, a competitive girl's team, throughout her middle school years.  Riley participated in two teams that won the Rogue Valley Cup for their division--(Ashland Picante in 2007 and Ashland SuperNova in 2008) and will play varisty soccer for the Lady Grizzlies at Ashland High School this fall.   Riley has also helped out the soccer community in Ashland as a buddy in TOPS--a soccer program that reaches out to disabled children and as a coaching assistant last Spring for Ashland Flame.  WAY TO GO RILEY!

Assistant Coaches Needed:

Registration Information Update:

Online Registration for 2008-2009 Soccer Year is still open. Go to:

oysa-ashland.sportsaffinity.com

Ashland Soccer Club's new online registration site is up and ready to take your registration.   You can now use your credit card to pay soccer fees and even set up a payment plan online.  You can also register online and mail in a check for your payment.   Internet Explorer is the internet browser that works best with the online registration website, but other browsers such as Sarfari  usually work as well. There is a link to our online registration site below in the Quick Link box.  If the online program doesn't work for you--you can still register by filling out a paper registration form at the Ashland Soccer Club office, Suite 106-K, in the basement of the Historic Ashland Armory, at 208 Oak Street in downtown Ashland.   If you have registration questions, email Jeanne at chouard.jeanne@gmail.com

How to register Online:

Visit:  oysa-ashland.sportsaffinity.com

Read the Welcome Page and click on the "Registration" tab at the top of the page to get started.  The next page will ask you if you want to register as a "Player" or a "Coach."
