Ashland Soccer Club:  Open House: Friday, May 16

Ashland Middle School Library:  5:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Planning on playing soccer next fall?  Please stop by the open house and registration information night next Friday, May 16th in the AMS Library.  Coaches and board members will be on hand to answer questions about the youth soccer program and explain the registration process.  If you are planning to apply for a scholarship for your fees next fall, please stop by the open house to pick up a scholarship application. (Scholarship players will need to complete a paper application and will NOT register online.)  Information about tryouts for competitive teams will be available and we'll have a gear swap for used soccer gear.  Come and check out our supply of used cleats and jersies.

Online Registration for 2008-2009 Soccer Year Now Open:

Ashland Soccer Club's new online registration site is up and ready to take your registration.   You can now use your credit card to pay soccer fees and even set up a payment plan online.   Internet Explorer is the internet browser that works best with the online registration website.  If you don't have access to a computer to register online, please stop by the Open House/Registration Night this Friday, May 16 between 5:00 - 7:30 to complete a paper registration.

Visit:  oysa-ashland.sportsaffinity.com

Read the Welcome Page and click on the "Registration" tab at the top of the page to get started.  The next page will ask you if you want to register as a "Player" or a "Coach."  Choose "Player Registration".  The following page will give you a choice to look for a match with a previous account or to set-up a new account.  Choose to set-up a new account as a new user.  You will set up one account as a family for this new system.  Once your account is created, you can use your user name and password to access the system and make changes.

Parents--please note:  You first enter yourself as a parent, then you enter your child as a player.

Competitive Players:  Please register online prior to tryouts.  Complete your registration as a competitive player. (When you choose level of play, make sure you select "competitive.")  You will be placed on the "Try-Out List" for your age group by registering online.  If you choose to pay with a credit card, your account will not be charged until after tryouts and you are selected for a  competitive team.  If you choose to pay by check, the club will "hold" the check and not process your payment until  after you are selected for a competitive team.   If you do not make a competitive team, we will "cancel" your application and you can go back online and apply as a recreational player.

Recreational Players:  Please register online before summer vacation.  In order to plan and organize teams, the club needs to know how many players are planning to play Fall soccer.   Your credit card will not be charged until you are accepted on a team.  No tryouts are needed for recreational players.

Tryouts for Competitive Teams:

Ready to bring your game to the next level?  Players who will be over the age of 10 as of July 31, 2008 are eligible to tryout for competitive or classic teams.  Competitive teams play in the Southern Oregon Classic League or the Statewide OYSA Fall league.  If you're a strong player and are interested in challenging yourself,  please consider trying out for a competitive team in your age group.  If you're serious about playing soccer in high school, now's the time to start considering playing competitive soccer during your middle school years.

Competitive teams practice twice weekly and play games on Saturdays and/or Sundays.  Participation in the Southern Oregon Classic League involves limited travel in the Southern Oregon region while participation in the Statewide league requires some overnight trips.  Competitive teams usually start practice early in the month of August to prepare for the Fall season.   Competitive players should participate in summer soccer camps and make efforts to maintain and improve their fitness and soccer skills over the summer.

Tryouts Scheduled at this time:  More Tryouts to be scheduled soon!

Keep checking the website for tryout dates for additional teams.

Remember to register as a competitive player so your name will be on the tryout list.
